Intern Program:

A season as a member of the Beechwood Theatre Company intern staff is not the traditional theatre experience.  We are a living history museum located in a mansion overlooking the ocean in Newport, R.I.  Intern staff  members portray characters from the Victorian Age (specifically the year 1891), such as Aristocrats, debutantes, footman, and scullery maids. 
Interns also participate in classes focusing on audition skills, character development, and
improvisation.  A strong professional staff will guide you through recreating Victorian Balls, Christmas Dinners, and Murder Mysteries. 

Interns are paid a starting salary of $90.00 per week.  Housing and classes are provided for no additional fees.  There are opportunities to make extra income.  Beechwood hires 8 interns for both its summer and fall seasons.  Fall interns should sing.  All interns will be taught Vintage Dance.   All interns should have strong improv skills.

Professional Production Team:

Beechwood hires five Production Team members who create the professional staff.  All actors perform in the living history tours as well as direct, teach, accompany,
choreograph, and costume design depending on personal specialties. 

Applicants should have past professional experience and excellent leadership skills.  The Production Team serves as role models to our intern staff.
